WHY COOK WITH PROPANE?
- Speed: Adjusting the flame has an immediate impact on the food’s temperature, and you don’t have to wait for the stove to heat up or cool down.
- Convenience: Since the temperature can be adjusted as necessary, you don’t have to lift the pot off the stove when there’s danger of overheating. The stove can also be instantly turned off, and you don’t need to wait for it to cool down.
- Even heat distribution: The flame heats the entire bottom of the pot or pan, and you can adjust the temperature exactly as needed.
- Accuracy: A gas stove allows for very accurate temperature adjustment, enabling the most delicate of cooking procedures.
SAFETY TIPS FOR COOKING
Always keep the gas cylinder in an upright position, out of the reach of children
The propane cylinder has a safety valve that prevents it from exploding in the event of a fire. For the valve to work properly, the cylinder must be kept in an upright position. Also keep the propane cylinder out of the reach of children.
Do not expose the cylinder to excessive heat
At about 65° C, there is a risk that the safety valve on the cylinder opens and releases gas. Therefore, the cylinder should not be stored near hot surfaces or in glazed spaces such as glazed balconies or in parked cars. Keep the propane cylinder at least 1 meter away from ovens, wood stoves and similar sources of heat, and at least 20 cm away from your gas stove, heating elements or other connected gas devices.
Provide good ventilation
Store the propane cylinder in a properly ventilated space, for example in a kitchen cabinet with ventilation openings in the upper and lower part. Never store the cylinder in a bedroom.
Store in a locked cabinet
Cylinders placed outdoors must be stored in a locked cupboard.
Do not make your own installations
Fixed installations may only be carried out by an approved installer.
Check your gas equipment regularly
Use the right kind of propane equipment and check it regularly for safety. Use only hoses that are intended for propane use and that can withstand cold temperatures down to -30° C. The color of the propane hose for home and leisure use is orange. Replace the hoses every three years.
Use aluminum or teflon pans
Baking pans used in a gas oven must be made of aluminum or teflon. Use aluminum foil instead of parchment paper and make sure that the baking pan does not touch the inner walls of the oven.
